Office Hours: Monday-Tuesday 2:30pm-4:30pm
Course Description: Welcome to OCS English 3-4. I am delighted to be your teacher this year and it is my hope that you will enjoy me as your instructor. In this class you will learn the vital language skills that will be necessary to gain quality employment in your field of choice.
Classroom Expectations:
1. It is expected that you will come into class on time, prepared and ready for learning.
2. It is expected that you will respect yourself and others while within the classroom.
3. It is expected that you will not curse or use inappropriate language.
4. It is expected that the student will sit in his or her assigned seat unless told otherwise.
5. It is expected for everyone to ask questions.
Consequences:
1. The student will be given a reminder.
2. The student will be given a warning
3. The student will be given a 2nd warning
4. The student will be addressed privately about his behavior.
5. The student’s parents will be contacted.
6. The student will be disciplined by means of a written referral.
Absences & School Attendance
Absences will be recorded daily by the homeroom and classroom teacher. Students missing 10 days in a class per year will receive a grade of F for the course unless the classroom time is made up.
Make Up/Late Work:
Students should plan to make up class work/tests and missing assignments within five days of returning to school. When it is necessary for a student to make up written work missed, the student must assume the responsibility for contacting the individual teachers immediately about making up the work missed. Arrangements must be made no later than five school days after the student returns to school.

Grade Reporting Dates
Mid-progress report dates - September 24 (A day) & September 25 (B day),
December 4 (A day) & December 5 (B day), February 24 (A day) & February 25 (B day), May 6 (A day) & May 7 (B day)
Report card dates - November 15, February 5, April 11 and June 27 (report cards mailed home).
